Conewango Twp. man jailed after weekend search
A Conewango Township man was taken to Warren County Jail after a search of his home was conducted on Saturday.
David N. Curry, 54, of 129 Jackson Run Road, is charged with five counts of possession with intent to deliver, two counts of criminal use of a communications facility, and one count of dealing in unlawful proceeds — all felonies.
“On July 30, 2022, detectives from the Warren County Drug Task Force conducted a search warrant on a residence located at 129 Jackson Run Road in Conewango Township,” according to a Task Force release. “Detectives had investigated the sale of methamphetamine from within the home for several months. The resident, David Curry, 54, was arrested and charged… after the search yielded methamphetamine, prescription medications, and US currency.”
According to the affidavit of probable cause, controlled buys were conducted in which Curry allegedly exchanged methamphetamine for cash.
An informant notified task force agents that “Curry did possess, and was distributing methamphetamine recently purchased from Erie,” according to the affidavit.
The search started around 9:23 a.m., Saturday, according to the affidavit.
According to the affidavit, 21.82 grams of methamphetamine, clonazepam, amphetamine, and dextroamphetamine were found, packaged for sale. Agents also found bills that matched those recorded before use in controlled buys.
Conewango Township Police Department assisted in the bust.
After his arrest, Curry allegedly told police “different people had been selling controlled substances” from the address, and that he “was picking up the methamphetamine to give it to another person.”
Curry was arraigned Saturday before District Judge Daniel Miller of Forest County and taken to Warren County Jail after failing to post $50,000.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 10.
