Warren man found guilty in assault trials
A Warren County man has been found guilty in separate trials in two counties in the past three weeks for sexual assaults.
Troy A. Dew, 43, of Pittsfield, was found guilty of indecent assault at a jury trial Wednesday in Warren County court.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, Dew allegedly groped a family member after a funeral in July. That offense is a misdemeanor and Dew faces up to two years in prison, according to Warren County District Attorney Rob Greene.
There were other charges out of Clarion County.
According to ExploreVenango.com, Dew was found guilty of multiple charges at a March 31 jury trial.
Court documents show Dew was found guilty of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child, sexual assault, indecent assault person less than 13 years of age, and corruption of minors.
He had also been charged with aggravated indecent assault of a child. That charge was dismissed.
ExploreVenango reported that Dew’s conviction in Clarion County was on charges that, over a period of months and on multiple occassions, Dew sexually assaulted a girl who was 7 to 8 years old. She said she told Dew to stop “all the time,” according to ExploreVenango.
Information about the earlier conviction could not be disclosed at the Warren County trial.
Greene expressed his thanks to the jury in the case.
“I’m glad the jury listened intently to the evidence and came to the conclusion of a guilty verdict,” he said.
