Cases resolved at preliminary hearings

Two guilty pleas were entered and charges were withdrawn against two others during preliminary hearings held on Wednesday at the Warren County Courthouse.

The following defendants entered guilty pleas:

Joshua A. Howard, 39, Warren, to possession of a controlled substance and theft by unlawful taking. Charges including eight counts of possession of a controlled substance, three counts of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia were withdrawn.

Danielle K. Johnson, 29, Russell, to possession of marijuana. A count of possession of drug paraphernalia was withdrawn.

Charges were withdrawn against the following:

Kimi E. Bender, 52, Warren. Bender had been charged with felony retail theft. Three counts of summary retail theft were re-categorized as non-traffic offenses.

Daniel D. Skaggs, 33, Lakewood, NY. Skaggs had been charged with six counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, displaying an unauthorized certificate of inspection, failure to carry license, operating a vehicle without required financial responsibility, failure to carry registration, violate hazard regulation, disregard traffic lane and fail to keep right. Charges of follow too closely, careless driving and driving at safe speed were re-categorized as traffic offenses.
