Jail ceiling escape thwarted, man charged
A Jamestown, NY man is behind bars after trying to climb through the ceiling of a holding cell at the Warren County Jail.
Blair Daniels, 32, was charged by the Warren County Sheriff’s office on Tuesday and arraigned by District Judge Raymond Zydonik this morning.
The incident occurred on August 6 at about 11 a.m.
Deputies state that Daniels was brought to the jail from the Chautauqua County Jail and placed in a holding cell.
A jail official first saw “Daniels escaping through the ceiling” and additional staff and several deputies swung into action.
Two deputies grabbed Daniels by the ankles before he, per the affidavit “realized that he could not overcome the restraining force.”
