The county’s Blighted Property Review Committee didn’t have a quorum Thursday but still reviewed a property put forth by Sheffield Township.

It’s located at 146 Saybrook Road.

John DiPierro told the committee that the “house looks worse than it is” with “a lot of cosmetic issues.”

“(I) think the township supervisors (got) a little bit frisky getting you guys involved,” he said, explaining he is in the “process of doing what needed to be done.”

He specifically highlighted roof and foundation issues and also said a neighbor is interested in purchasing it. Based on the discussion, utilities are still connected and someone had been living in the structure and wants to return there.

Eggleston said the information he shared would be disseminated to the rest of the committee between now and the September meeting.

“We want somebody to show up and that’s 9/10ths of it,” he said. “We get enough properties where there’s no ownership, no interest. Those are the ones we want to deal with for the most part.”

“(It’s) nice to know he’s got something and (is) coming in with a plan,” Committee member Rick Brewster added.
