At Beaty Park, Beaty-Warren Middle School, students were enjoying the chance to get outside for gym.
COVID-19 distancing restrictions have cut into gym spaces to make sure there is room for students to eat while social distancing.
Physical Education Teacher Michelle Johnson took advantage of the weather to get her students outside.
“We’ve been in the hallway all winter,” she said.
Students threw footballs, tennis balls, and frisbees, shot basketballs, and played a combination of tennis and volleyball called Nitro Ball.
The temperature is expected to remain above 60 for most of Friday, but the National Weather Service has issued a high wind watch for the county for Friday morning and afternoon.
Sustained winds of 20 to 30 miles per hour are possible, with gusts up to 60 miles per hour, according to the NWS State College office.
The wind could bring down trees and power lines. “Widespread power outages are possible,” according to the advisory. “Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.”
