Council to revisit playground program in special meeting

Warren City Council will be meeting in special session next week to discuss the status of the city’s summer playground program.

Earlier this month, city staff announced the decision to close both the playground program – which provides supervised playground options at several parks in the city – and the municipal pool for 2021. COVID-19 concerns were cited as the reason for the decision.

Part of that decision – the playground program, specifically – is headed to city council for further review.

The April 5 session will commence at 6 p.m. In-person and virtual attendance options are available.
