Bridge results

Tuesday afternoon at the Allegheny Community Center, Rita Mancuso was first and Donna Holding was second. At the Woman’s Club Thursday afternoon, Donna Holding and Connie Michell were first and second. Linda Jensen placed first Thursday evening at the library with Donna Holding in second.

Polka Sunday

The Slovenian Polka Boosters will meet from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 24, at Ridgway Eagles, with the Anthony Kulkar Band, of Cleveland, Ohio, performing. There will be music for all types of dancing and the public is invited. For information, call John or Pat Moore at (814) 837-9218.

Women’s cancer support meeting

The Warren Womans Cancer Support Group will be meeting at 6 p.m. this Thursday, Nov. 21, at the Warren Cancer Center. For more information, call the Warren Cancer Center at 726-1786.

Holiday closings

Youngsville Borough Office & Services will be closed Thursday, Nov. 28, and Friday, Nov. 29, for the Thanksgiving holiday. In addition, the public works personnel will be off for their floating holiday on Monday, Dec. 2.

Monday’s garbage pickup will be Tuesday. Tuesday’s garbage pickup will be Wednesday.

The office will be open on Monday, Dec. 2.

Experience, Inc. the Area Agency on Aging and the senior centers in Warren and Forest counties will be closed November 27 and 28th in observance of the holiday.

Classes to lunch

The YHS classes of 1964 and 1965 luncheon will be held at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26, at the American Legion in Youngsville. Spouses and all other classes are welcome.

Thanksgiving meal

The Salvation Army’s Annual Thanksgiving Dinner will be held Saturday, Nov. 23, at St. Joseph Church, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Food donations of turkeys and pies or monetary donations are appreciated. There is also a need for volunteers to help with serving and cleanup. For more information, call 723-8950.

Hospice of Warren County received contributions during the month of October in memory of Carl Wascak, Gordon L. Vinopal, Carolyn Graziano, Christine Kintner, Barbara Jerman, Vinnie Massa, Barbara “Bobbie” Seibert, Suzanne Care Nelson, Mary Akif, Lloyd J. Paul, Richard Wadsworth, Robert Gatto Sr., James Musante, Mike Madigan, Susan Young, Doris Andress, Annie Heisler, Tim Benson, Everett Cooper, Dolores Ulichnie, Margie Lundberg, Alfred Moore, David Young, Maxine Waterman.

A donation was also received in honor of Pam English.
