Lily Broadcasting purchases three Warren area radio stations

Three Warren radio stations have been acquired by Erie-based Lilly Broadcasting.

The television group announced that it had acquired this week that it had acquired WNAE – AM/FM: News-Talk 96.7; WRRN-FM: 92 Gold Greatest Hits; and WKNB-FM: Kinzua Country 104.3, all formerly owned by Radio Partners LLC.

“The Warren radio properties create synergies with our current footprint in our Pennsylvania television DMA (designated market area), comprised of Erie, Warren and Crawford counties,” President Kevin Lilly said. “They will allow us to better serve our viewers and now our radio listeners while in their homes, cars, and online. We look forward to providing the best content available for our listeners and will improve the news, weather and sports information on all platforms.”

According to the company’s website, Lilly operates a number of television stations, including two in Erie — NBC affiliate WICU, and, in a partnership, CBS affiliate WSEE.

According to the release, Lilly is looking for a quick transition happening within the next 60 days.

An attempt to reach Lilly Chief Operations Officer John Christianson for additional comment was unsuccessful.
