Youngsville woman killed in crash

A Youngsville woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash in Busti, N.Y., on Saturday evening.

According to Lakewood-Busti Policek, Rebecca J. Westfall, 58, was pronounced dead at the scene after she was ejected from a motorcycle driven by Wiltsie W. Westfall, 56.

Police said that around 5:38 p.m. Saturday, a mini van driven by Kareem I. Walker, Jamestown, N.Y., was traveling south on South Main Street Extension approaching the intersection of Busti Stillwater Road and failed to stop for the stop sign at the intersection.

Police say at the same time, a 2010 Can-Am motorcycle was traveling west on Busti Stillwater Road, driven by Wiltsie Westfall, and was approaching the intersection as well. The vehicles entered the intersection at the same time, police said, and the motorcycle struck the rear driver side of the mini van, causing the van to lose control before coming to rest in the ditch on South Main Street Extension on the south side of Busti Stillwater Road. The motorcycle also lost control and came to rest in the same ditch.

According to police, Walker was not injured in the accident. Wiltsie Westfall and Rebecca Westfall were ejected from the motorcycle, police said. Wiltsie Westfall was flown to UPMC Hamot in Erie; Rebecca Westfall was pronounced dead at the scene.

In addition to Lakewood-Busti Police, the Busti Volunteer Fire Department, Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Department, Starflight and Alstar Ambulance also responded to the scene.
