Youngsville Public Library Summer Reader Fun

Adults read for fun & prizes:

Youngsville Public Library is challenging adults to read for fun and prizes in their 3rd annual Adult Summer Reading program. The program is going-on now through July 31st. If you haven’t registered at the Youngsville Library yet for this program, it’s not too late! In the meantime just keep a log of the book titles you’ve been reading (as of June 1st ) and record the number of pages per book as well as whether the book was regular print or large print.

The number of pages that you read will determine how many raffle-ticket chances you can earn for prizes such as “almost like new” ribbon books, nostalgia note cards (that feature pictures from our Brokenstraw Valley Historical Collection), melted-glass bottle art (great for spoon holders, candy dishes, etc.), and other items. Stop by during business hours for more details or call 563-7670 with questions. Monday & Tuesday Noon – 7:30 pm, Wednesday 10-5 pm and Friday Noon – 4 pm. YPL will be closed July 4th.

K-12 Super-Reader Program:

Kids, tweens, and teens don’t have to be a “major reader” to qualify for a chance to win great prizes like Warren County Fair passes, Walmart gift cards, toys, games, and more during Youngsville Library’s Summer Super-reader program. Every little bit that you read helps you to earn raffle ticket chances towards “large prizes” featured in YPL’s display case. The program is going on now through July 28th and is open to all students from Kindergarten (completed) through 12th grade. Students read independently (not at the library), read at their own pace, and can read books from home and/or library books. This is a great program to encourage kids to read during the summer. Participants need to register with a parent/guardian during business hours but in the meantime they can (1) keep track of the titles of picture books they’ve read (if they just completed K-2nd grade this year) or (2) keep track of the titles and number of pages of the books they’ve read (if they’ve just completed grades 3-12 this year). Call Youngsville Library for more details 563-7670 or stop in during regular business hours: M & Tu Noon- 7:30, W 10-5, and F Noon-4 pm. (The library will be closed Tuesday, July 4th in observance of the holiday.)
