Youngsville Library taking part in Warren Gives
Please email community news to Colette Nelson at Colettenel.ypl@gmail.com by Wednesday of each week to be included in the Youngsville News section of the Saturday paper.
On Wednesday, May 13, between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m., visit www.warrengives.org to help support the Youngsville Library through the Community Foundation of Warren County’s 14th Warren Gives, annual day of giving held every May.
One of the things that makes giving through Warren Gives a wonderful opportunity for area non-profits is the match pool. A percentage of the match pool is added on top of a donation, which makes donations grow. Another way to support is to stop by the library and pick up a form that can be mailed into the Community Foundation with a check. The form must be received at the foundation office no later than Monday, May 11.
The Youngsville Public Library provides Youngsville, and surrounding communities with access to information, technology, ideas, and experiences, to enrich and strengthen the lives of the community.
Here are just a few of the many things the Youngsville Public Library provides for the community: books, magazines, DVDs, and audiobooks, “free to the public.” eBooks, computer access, 24-7 high-speed Wi-Fi access, summer reading program, book club, free summer snack program, and much more. The library also offers faxing, copying, and scanning services, for a nominal fee.
Intermediate and short-term needs for the library include replacing the roof, which is more than 20 years old, and purchasing an automatic door for handicap access.
Other needs include: purchasing new circulation materials in all formats from picture books to eBook and/audiobooks; increasing programming/outreach opportunities with the purchase of supplies, digital databases, and other resources to enhance children, youth, and adult programs; updating and maintaining the public use of computers, software, and hardware; and building maintenance.
“We at the Youngsville Library truly appreciate your continued support,” library officials said. “It’s because of donors like you that we can provide this valuable resource to our community.”
