Monday, November 21 will be Pepper Steak with peppers, onions and gravy, parsley noodles, baby carrots, wheat bread, applesauce.

Tuesday, November 22 will be Baked Crab Cake, cheesy noodle with broccoli, Italian vegetable medley, wheat bread, seasonal fruit.

Thursday, November 24 closed for Thanksgiving.

Monday, November 28 will be Italian Meatball Hoagie with sauce and cheese, seasoned new potatoes, mixed bean medley, hoagie bun, tapioca.

Tuesday, November 29 will be Pork Loin with gravy, scalloped potatoes, sweet peas and onions, diner roll, seasonal fruit.

Please be sure to call 814-723-3763 at least two days in advance to sign up for meals you want as this will help make sure that enough food is sent to the center as no extra meals are sent.

Musician Needed

Tidioute Presbyterian Church is in need of an organist or pianist for Sunday worship services at 11 a.m.

This is a paid position and the position could be filled by an adult or youth, male or female.

Knights of Columbus

The Tidioute Knights of Columbus will hold their regular monthly meeting on Thursday, Nov. 3 at 7 p.m. at St. John Center.

The 2017 membership cards will be available at this meeting.

All members are asked to attend this very important meeting.

Scarecrow Competition

Tidioute Community Charter School PTO will hold a Scarecrow Competition on the front lawn of the school on Wednesday, October 26 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. the rain date will be October 27.

Judging will be at 6:30 p.m.

They invite the community, families and students to participate. Build a scarecrow at home an come and compete for prizes.

The competition is free and prizes will be awarded to the winning scarecrows.

Winners categories include: Best Traditional Scarecrow, Silliest, Prettiest, Biggest, Most Unique, and People’s Choice.

PTO will provide donuts and cider and will offer hay wagon rides. Book club will be selling apples with caramel and Prom committee will be making waffles with strawberries and whipped cream.

Christmas In Tidioute

The next merchant meeting for Christmas In Tidioute will be tonight, October 26 at 5:30 at the Tidioute Public Library.

All merchants are urged to attend this meeting.

Halloween Dance

Tidioute Community Charter School PTO will sponsor a Family Fun Night with a Monster Mash Halloween Dance on Friday, October 28 from 6 p.m. 7:30 p.m. at the Charter School.

All students and their families are invited to dress up and be prepared for a ghostly time.

Students in grades K4 to grade 3 are required to be accompanied by a parent or guardian during the dance.

Refreshments will be provided. DJ Valentine the Vampire will provide the graveyard grooves.

Halloween Treats

Need to treat yourself to a good fright this Halloween Season? Tidioute Library has plenty of scary books to lend for a sleepless night too.

“Frankenstein” and “Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde” are in the classics section and if you prefer more modern spookiness there are two shelves of author Stephen King and quite a few Dean Koontz and Robin Cook.

Some new writers to consider might be James Dashner, Neil Gaiman or Douglas Preston/Lincoln Child.

Stop by and check one out.

Halloween Candies

It’s that time of year again, Halloween. The Auxiliary members of the VFW Post 8803 are asking for donations to help fill the treat bags that are distributed to our little Ghosts and Goblins of Tidioute.

Checks are to be made out to the VFW Auxiliary and mailed to 93 Main ST, Tidioute, PA 16351 c/o Jackie Edmiston or any donations can be left at the VFW Post Home. You can also contact Bev Stotler at 484-3549 or Barb Downey at 730-0392.

Treat bags will be given out at the Tidioute Fire Hall from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Trick or Treat Hours

The Trick or Treat hours for Tidioute borough will be on Monday, October 31 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Children and parents are reminded to only stop at those houses with a porch light on. And Parents need to check the candy prior to the children eating any of it.

Limestone Twp. Trick or Treat

Residents of Limestone Township will have Trick or Treat hours from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, October 31.

Benefit Dinner

There will be a Spaghetti Benefit Dinner on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at the Tidioute Fire Hall from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The menu consists of Spaghetti, salad, bread/rolls, dessert and beverages.

Cost is $8 for Adults and $5 for Kids.

There will also be a 50/50 raffle.

This dinner is a benefit dinner for Jessica and Walter (Buck) Lindsay’s family.

Buck has a blood condition that was discovered when he had to life flighted to Pittsburgh for two emergency surgeries; a Fasciotomy and Thrombotomy, which he is still recovering from and is unable to work. Jess had back surgery several years ago and has not been having issues with it again. Her doctor will not allow her to work and is unsure when she will be able to return to work.

With all of this, Jess still takes care of her husband Buck and their two kids, ages four and seven.

This family could really use the support of their community to help them thru this difficult time.

Food Voucher Drive

Tidioute Thanksgiving and Christmas Food Voucher Committee is still accepting monetary donations for the Thanksgiving and Christmas Food vouchers that will be mailed out by November 14 in time for Thanksgiving.

Your monetary support would be greatly appreciated as this helps those in Tidioute to have a better Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner.

Donations can be made payable to Tidioute Holiday Food Vouchers and mailed to Linda Scott, secretary/co chairman at 60 Jefferson ST, Tidioute, PA 16351.

All donations will be accepted with graciousness.

Holiday Food Applications

Applications are now available for the Tidioute Holiday Food Vouchers for Thanksgiving and Christmas Holidays.

Applications can be picked up at Tidioute Library, Tidioute Towers, Buccardo’s Restaurant, Tidioute Post Office, Evans Market, Northwest Bank-Tidioute, and Tidioute Trading Post.

Only one application per household.

These applications must be received by the committee no later than November 5, no exceptions.

Vouchers will be mailed out by November 14.

PSCFT Bingo

There will be BINGO at Buccardo’s Restaurant on Sunday, November 6 at 2:30 p.m. Doors will open at 2 p.m.

Proceeds will benefit the PSCFT.

Past Commanders Dinner

The Past Commanders Dinner for VFW Post 8803 will be held on November 10.

Sign up sheet is at the bar.

Bar will be open for members and their guests from 12 to 4 p.m. and then closed for dinner.

Veterans Day

Veterans Day Services will be held at the VFW Post 8803 on November 11 at 11 a.m.

Open to the public and all are welcome to attend.

Halloween Dance Winners

Winners were selected during the Servicemen’s Halloween Dance.

Winners in First Place were Ghostbusters-Sonya Spencer, Second Place was the Milkman and the Housewife-Jon and Allison Feit, and in Third Place was the Ladies M & M Crew-Bev Stotler, Kathy Crawford, Debbie Keim and Claire Stablein.

Tying The Greens

Holiday Lighting Committee will have the Tying of the Greens on Friday, November 11 at 6 p.m. at the Tidioute Borough Garage.

They are looking for volunteers to help, Everyone is welcome.

Bingo Bus Trip

The next Bingo Bus trip will be traveling to Salamanca to Seneca Gaming and Entertaining for a day of Bingo on Saturday, November 12.

There will be many games to play and chances to win cash. They depart from Northwest Bank Parking lot in Tidioute at 9 a.m. with a stop at the Warren Mall to pick up more players and return to Tidioute approximately 6 p.m.

Bus tickets are $20 each which are non refundable and includes an incentive package.

Reservations must be made and payments received by October 28.

Trap Team Raffle

Members of the Trap Team at Tidioute Community Charter School are raffling off a Remington Model 700 CDL 300 Winchester Mag. With black walnut stock as the First Place Prize and An Authentic “Tidioute” Knife made by Great Eastern Cutlery as a Second Place prize.

Tickets are $5 each or 3 for $10 and the drawing will be on November 19 during the Bear Check at the Tidioute Firehall.

TATA’s Make Donation

On behalf of the Tidioute TATA’s and the Tidioute Community, Chrystal Heenan was able to donate $2,500 to the Warren Cancer Care Center recently.

The check was presented by Crystal Heenan to Dr. Eden, radiation oncologist .

A big thank you to all of you for your donations, support, and participation in their annual events. All of which make this cancer support group possible.

Treasurers For Children

Tidioute Unit of the Salvation Army now has the applications for the Treasurers For Children at the Tidioute branch of Northwest Bank, contact person at the bank is Jennifer.

Families can fill out these applications and leave them at the bank and a tag with the requests for children ages birth to age 18 (in school) will be placed on the Christmas Tree so residents can choose a tag or tags and purchase items for the children of our community to help defray the cost of Christmas for the parents/guardians.

Applications must be completed and left at the bank before November 25.

Parents/guardians will be notified when gifts at ready to be picked up and the parents can wrap the gifts for Christmas.

New Banners

Tidioute Borough Council approved the design for the new borough banners and borough office is accepting donations from the public to help defray the cost of the new banners.

Banners can be “In Memory” or “In Honor” of your loved one or your family.

To mail your donations, please make checks payable to Tidioute Borough and write “Banners” on the memo line and mail them to Tidioute Borough, 129 Main ST, Tidioute, PA 15351 or stop by the office during regular office hours and you can view the sample of the new banners.

Christmas Cash Raffle

The American Legion Auxiliary Unit of Post 0334 of Tidioute, PA is holding a Christmas Cash Raffle.

Drawing will be held on December 7, tickets are $5 each and will benefit the auxiliary. Only 500 tickets are being sold.

First Place Prize is for $500; Second Place Prize is for $250 and Third Place Prize is for $100.

Salt Squad

Children in grades kindergarten to grade 6 are invited to come to the Allegheny Bible Church on Wednesday evenings for the Salt Squad activities.

Children can participate in Bible verse memorization, Bible lessons, singing, crafts related to the scripture lesson, and, of course, the snacks.

Nashville Travelers

A reminder to those who are traveling to Nashville, Tenn., with Judy Sabella: the bus will leave Tidioute Presbyterian Church at 4:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 13.

Coffee Hour

Time to move “Coffee Hour” inside.

Residents at Tidioute Towers have been enjoying the coffee hour outside for the summer, but the crisp fall mornings have made it time to move back inside.

Several residents enjoyed the snacks and coffee.

It’s a great way to start your day with food and friends.

Blood Drive

Tidioute Community Charter School Red Cross team will be hosting a blood drive at the Tidioute Firehall on Thursday, Oct. 20 from 12:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Individuals who are least 17 years of age (16 with parental permission), weight at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health can give blood.

Eligible donors can give every two months.

Be sure to have a light meal prior to donating blood and to drink plenty of liquids following the donations.

Bingo

Bingo games will be held on Sunday, Nov. 6 at Buccardo’s in the banquet room.

Doors open at 2 p.m. and the games will begin at 2:30 p.m.

Proceeds will benefit the Pennsylvania State Championship Fishing Tournament.

Afghan Winner

Tidioute Senior Center announces the winner the winner of the Afghan that it raffled off and drew the name of Fran Stoneburg of Tidioute as the winner.

They thank all those who purchased tickets to help with their fundraiser.

Memorial Walleye

The committee members thank the sponsors for the George Jones Memorial Walleye/Bass Tournament.

A special thanks to Terry for getting her to the hospital in time and for taking such good care of her. The Tidioute Community Charter School thanks the community members , parents, churches and the generosity of all the people that donated supplies to Tidioute Community Charter School this year.

They received an overwhelming number of items including school supplies, backpacks, poster board, glue sticks and glue guns, jump drives, craft supplies, tri-fold boards, clothing and much more to help our students start the year off right.

The students and teachers really appreciate everything the parents and community does to help.

Children in grades kindergarten to grade 6 are invited to come to the Allegheny Bible Church on Wednesday evenings for the Salt Squad activities.

Children can participate in Bible verse memorization, Bible lessons, singing, crafts related to the scripture lesson, and, of course, the snacks.

Nashville Travelers

A reminder to those who are traveling to Nashville, Tenn., with Judy Sabella: the bus will leave Tidioute Presbyterian Church at 4:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 13.

Coffee Hour

Time to move “Coffee Hour” inside.

Residents at Tidioute Towers have been enjoying the coffee hour outside for the summer, but the crisp fall mornings have made it time to move back inside.

Several residents enjoyed the snacks and coffee.

It’s a great way to start your day with food and friends.

Blood Drive

Tidioute Community Charter School Red Cross team will be hosting a blood drive at the Tidioute Firehall on Thursday, Oct. 20 from 12:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Individuals who are least 17 years of age (16 with parental permission), weight at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health can give blood.

Eligible donors can give every two months.

Be sure to have a light meal prior to donating blood and to drink plenty of liquids following the donations.

Bingo

Bingo games will be held on Sunday, Nov. 6 at Buccardo’s in the banquet room.

Doors open at 2 p.m. and the games will begin at 2:30 p.m.

Proceeds will benefit the Pennsylvania State Championship Fishing Tournament.

Afghan Winner

Tidioute Senior Center announces the winner the winner of the Afghan that it raffled off and drew the name of Fran Stoneburg of Tidioute as the winner.

They thank all those who purchased tickets to help with their fundraiser.

Trick or Treat

Tidioute will hold its Trick or Treat on Monday, Oct. 31 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Children and parents are reminded to only stop at the houses with a porch light on, and only the homes where you know the residents.

Halloween Treats

The VFW Auxiliary of VFW Post 8803 is looking for donations for the treat bags it gives out on Halloween to our little ghosts and goblins.

Checks can be made payable to VFW Auxiliary and mailed to 93 Main St., Tidioute, PA 16351 c/o Jackie Edmiston.

Voucher Donations

Once again the Tidioute Holiday Food Voucher Committee is asking for your help with the monetary support for the Holiday Food Vouchers that are given to those in need for Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays.

Any individual or organization who wishes to make a monetary donation, your support would be greatly appreciated.

All checks should be made payable to “Tidioute Holiday Food Vouchers” and mailed to Linda Scott, secretary at 60 Jefferson St., Tidioute, PA 16351.

The change of address came about due to the closing of the Tidioute Methodist Church and an address was needed right away for the new account.

Scarecrow Competition

Tidioute Community Charter School PTO will be holding a Scarecrow Competition on the front lawn of the school on Wednesday, Oct. 26 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. (rain date will be Oct. 27).

Judging will be at 6:30 p.m.

The community, families and students are invited to participate.

This competition is free and prizes will be awarded to the winning scarecrows.

Categories are Best Traditional Scarecrow; Silliest; Prettiest; Biggest; Most Unique and People’s Choice.

There will be light refreshments and hay wagon rides.

Come and participate in the fun.

Memorial Walleye

The committee members thank the sponsors for the George Jones Memorial Walleye/Bass Tournament.

Sponsors included Flying W Ranch, Hickory Beverage, John Motzer of Landmark Hotel for plaques, the Jones Family for refreshments and donation for plaques.

A Note of Thanks

A big thank you to family and friends of Connie Cotterman for all the prayers, love and support during a recent health scare. Everyone was so thoughtful. Your cards, text, phone calls and preparing food, stopping in to help, letting Miss Mollie, Miss Hazel and the chicks out. Connie and Terry appreciate everything you have done.

A special thanks to Terry for getting her to the hospital in time and for taking such good care of her. She thinks he really likes doing house work and to her kids Rachael and Brandon for being with her every day and for all they did for her every day she was in Pittsburgh. They are her world. Family Fun Night

The Tidioute Community Charter School PTO will sponsor a Family Fun Night.

Monster Mash Halloween Dance on Friday, Oct. 28 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at TCCS.

Come have a Spook-tacular time.

All Tidioute Community Charter School students and their families are invited to dress up and be prepared for a ghostly time.

Students in grades K4 to grade 3 are required to be accompanied by a parent/guardian during the dance.

Refreshments will be provided.

DJ Valentine the Vampire will provide the graveyard grooves.

The Tidioute Community Charter School thanks the community members , parents, churches and the generosity of all the people that donated supplies to Tidioute Community Charter School this year.

They received an overwhelming number of items including school supplies, backpacks, poster board, glue sticks and glue guns, jump drives, craft supplies, tri-fold boards, clothing and much more to help our students start the year off right.

The students and teachers really appreciate everything the parents and community does to help.
