Kinzua Dam outflow
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has planned significant increases in outflow from Kinzua Dam. “This increased flow may cause substantial rises in river levels downstream from the dam. Boaters and anglers are advised to exercise caution during the next few days.” The Corps increased outflow incrementally from 5,500 to 9,500 cubic feet per second on Thursday.

ANF event The Allegheny National Forest is honoring the 50th anniversary of the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act with a reveal ceremony for a scale model timber raft display at the Marienville Ranger District office (131 Smokey Lane, Marienville) on Tuesday, Oct. 2. The scale model timber raft was handcrafted by the Toy Shoppe of Warren and is a replica of those used during the 19th century to float timber down the Allegheny and Clarion Rivers, both now part of the National Wild and Scenic Rivers System.
