Barnes Picnic The annual Barnes Picnic will be on Sunday from noon to 2 p.m. at the Sheffield Lions Den. Enjoy food and fellowship with current and former residents, families and friends of the Village of Barnes. Those attending are asked to bring a dish to share. Meatballs, corn-on-the-cob, drinks and tableware will be provided. Chandlers Valley Cemetery The Chandlers Valley Cemetery is having a meeting Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Chandlers Valley Community Center for all friends or family members who have relatives or grave sites at the cemetery. Outdoor Club To Visit Oil Creek State Park Sunday The Allegheny Outdoor Club will ride, bike or hike in the Oil Creek State Park on Sunday, Aug. 24. Members will take part in an out and back ride/hike and can go as far as they want. The trail is 9 miles one way. Members will meet at 2 p.m. at Petroleum Center, 305 State Park, Oil City. Blood drives scheduled The Community Blood Bank will hold a blood drive from 9 a.m. to noon Thursday, Aug. 14, at the Warren Manor and 1:30 to 5 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, at the Youngsville Volunteer Fire Department. The blood bank will also hold a blood drive from noon to 5:30 p.m. Aug. 19 at Holy Redeemer Church. Call 814-596-3395 to schedule an appointment to donate.
