Scholarships awarded to area students

Every Year, the Warren General Hospital Auxiliary Board awards scholarships to area students enrolled in a health care field. Thanks to community support of the WGH Auxiliary’s fundraisers such as the Christmas Basket Raffle, the Gala and other other hospital lobby sales, the WGH Auxiliary is able to award five student scholarships in 2021. Students receiving scholarships and their universities or technical school are Lindsey Goldthwaite, Great Lakes Institute of Technology, ultrasound; Sierra Darts, Jamestown Community College, nursing; Heather California, Clarion University, family nurse; Hannah Taylor, Gannon University, radiological and health sciences and Meghan Peterson, University of Pittsburgh at Bradford, nursing.

Produce express to be held July 6

The Second Harvest Produce Express will be at the Otterbein United Methodist Church, 258 Dalrymple St, Pittsfield, on Tuesday, July 6. Food pick-up will begin promptly at 3:30 p.m. 80 families will be served on a first come, first served basis. Everyone will need to complete a new registration form this month. Volunteer workers are asked to arrive by 2:00 p.m.

Garden club board to meet

The Warren Garden Club board meeting will be held at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday, July 8, at the Tybout House.

Craft show to be held Nov. 6

YOUNGSVILLE — The Winter Wonderland Craft Show, which is all homemade crafts, sponsored by the Youngsville Fireman’s Auxiliary, is scheduled to be held at the Youngsville Fire Hall on Saturday, Nov. 6, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is freee. Pitt-Bradford president steps down

The President of the Bradford and Titusville campuses of the University of Pittsburgh has resigned. President Catherine Koverola cited personal reasons in making the announcement on Tuesday. Her resignation is effective Thursday, July 1. Pitt-Bradford Vice President for Business Affairs Rick Esch will serve as interim president, according to a release from Pitt Provost and Senior Vice Chancellor Ann Cudd. No further information was released.

Retired ladies to meet July 2

The Osram-Sylvania retired ladies will meet at 1 p.m. Friday, July 2 at Double D’s in Garland. Everyone is welcome.
