Following 12 sessions of character development, a group of seven students from Abraxas have graduated and been given the tools to help turn their lives around. TCCS students hoping to fill empty bowls for others

Students at Tidioute Community Charter School have come up with a unique — and artsy — way to raise funds for those in need in their community. “Tidioute Community Charter School art students made ceramic bowls — “empty bowls” — and TCCS graphic art students created a cookbook to go along with the empty bowls,” TCCS Office Manager Heather Cass told the Times Observer. 2020-21 school calender finalized

The Warren County School District has finalized the school calendar for next year. The school board unanimously approved the 2020-2021 calendar during Monday night’s meeting. School is set to start next fall on Tuesday, Sept. 1, and wrap up on Friday, June 11, 2021. Students will be off in September for Labor Day, October for Columbus Day, Wednesday through Monday around Thanksgiving, and from Dec. 23 until Jan. 4 for Christmas break. WCSD proposes tax hike not pass index

A tax increase can’t be ruled out as part of the Warren County School District’s 2020-2021 spending plan, but it won’t be high enough to trigger a referendum. The Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) calculates a percentage index to determine the maximum tax increase allowed without exception or voter approval. The school board on Monday approved a resolution to stay under that index. The index — 3.7 percent — totals a little over 2 mills of property tax totaling about $818,000.
