Charges withdrawn at preliminary hearings

Charges were withdrawn against two defendants during preliminary hearings held Wednesday at the Warren County Courthouse. Mikeal L. Thomas, 44, McKees Rocks, Pa. Thomas had been charged with possession of marijuana. Wade C. Cope, 47, Warren. Cope had been charged with strangulation, simple assault, unlawful restraint and harassment.

After multiple hearings, Acting Secretary of the Commonwealth Al Schmidt’s nomination cleared his first legislative hurdle. Two guilty pleas were entered, charges were withdrawn against one while one was held for court as a result of preliminary hearings held Wednesday at the Warren County Courthouse.
