Christian Women to meet

Warren-Jamestown Christian Women will meet Tuesday, Oct. 8 at noon at Praise Fellowship Church, Russell. Speaker will be Sylvia Wurst with music by the Evertsen family. Reservations are made to Nancy Schuyler at (716) 720-4410 or (716) 485-9250.

Fall Sale

Wiltsie Community Church, Swede Hill Rd., Russell, will be holding its Fall Sale on Friday, Oct. 11, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and also Saturday, Oct. 12, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Handmade items include Christmas items, knitted hats and scarfs, scrubbies, dishcloths, wooden crafts, handmade cards, puzzles and many unique gifts.

Bridge results

Laurie Curren and Richard Woodruff took first Monday at the YMCA with Sharon Rissel and Bill Kuppinger in second. Marjorie Neal and Marjorie Polito were first and second on Tuesday at the Allegheny Community Center. At the Woman’s Club on Thursday, Connie Lucia came in first and Barbara Johnson was second.

Red Sand event

The Zonta Club of Warren and the Warren County Children’s Advocacy Center are holding a kick-off event on Saturday at 1 p.m. for the Red Sand Project. The event will be held at the Healing Garden.The project is a global art installation to bring awareness to the issue of human trafficking.

Night sky program

The Forest Service is offering a free night sky program at Kinzua Beach on Friday at 8 p.m. “During our journey across the sky, we will identify stars, constellations, and night sky objects while exploring connections to our past and future,” said Ranger Sarah Needs. Those attending are asked to bring a chair or blanket and dress appropriately for the weather, meeting at the parking area by 7:50 p.m.
