Christian women to meet

Jamestown-Warren Christian Women Village Missions Country Partners will hold its May luncheon Tuesday, May 8, at noon at RealLife Church, 556 E. Second St., Jamestown, NY. The Rev. Rick Rohlin will be the speaker. April’s program featured Dean and Esther Mast of Jamestown speaking about the Gideons and its ministry. There are no dues or membership. Lego group to meet

HEROES will be holding a Lego social group at the YMCA from 6-7 p.m. on May 3, 17, 31 and June 14. The group is open to all ages up to young adult and a Y membership is not required to attend. For more information call (814) 706-6142 or email heroes.warren@gmail.com

Papalia elected chairperson

Former Warren resident Anne O. Papalia, Ph.D. was recently elected to chairperson of the Special Education Department at Shippensburg University. Dr. Papalia has taught at the Shippensburg University since 2018. She authored her first book in 2022. Service Animals in Schools: Legal, Educational, Administrative, and Strategic Handling Aspects was co-authored with Kathy B. Ewoldt, Ph.D. and David F. Bateman, Ph.D. Dr. Papalia is married to Warren native Jerry Berardi, Jr. His parents, Gerald and Nancy, are current residents of Warren. Dr. Papalia is the daughter of Warren native Anthony S. Papalia, D.Ed. and the late Ruth Wickersham Papalia of Cortland, NY. Dr. Anne Papalia graduated from the State University of New York at Geneseo with a bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Special Education. She earned a second master’s degree in Counseling from Alfred University. Dr. Papalia received her Ph.D. in Special Education from The Pennsylvania University in State College, PA. She also trains and certifies Therapy dogs and is a dog obedience judge. She and her husband reside in Lemoyne, PA with their 2 Labrador dogs, Abraham and Ruthie.

Youngsville class to meet for lunch

The Youngsville High School Class of 1962 will meet for lunch at Station 61 on Tuesday, May 2nd at 11:00AM.

Support Group meets Thursday

The Caregivers Support Group will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 4, at Grace United Methodist Church, 501 Pennsylvania Ave., E., Warren. All caregivers and anyone interested in learning more about Alzheimer’s Disease and other dementias are welcome. Books and materials are available. A time for sharing and questions is provided. A discussion of details of the Warren Walk to End Alzheimer’s Disease, Saturday, Sept. 16, is on the agenda. Those attending are asked to use the Pennsylvania Avenue entrance. Those interested in more information may call Linda at (814) 726-1199.

Class to meet for lunch

The Warren High School Class of 1951 will meet for lunch at the Conerstone at 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 10. Family and friends are invited to attend.
