Class to meet for lunch

The Warren High School Class of 1953 will meet for lunch at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8, at the Peppermill.

Grief workshop

Grief may be more difficult during the second year after the death of a loved one. Hospice of Warren County is offering a 4-week grief workshop to address grief beyond the first year. The workshop will be offered on Tuesdays, February 21 and 28, and March 7 and 14. There will be a morning session from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and an evening session from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The sessions will be held at the Hospice office, 1 Main Ave., Warren.

Bridge results

Lana Creal and Chick Bello came in first Monday evening at the YMCA with Lynn Way and Richard Woodruff in second. Bill Massa rose to the top Tuesday at the Allegheny Community Center, followed by Connie Michell. At the Woman’s Club Thursday afternoon, Michell and Connie Lucia were first and second. Beginning lessons will start Monday, Feb. 13 at 9:30 a.m. at the Woman’s Club.

WGH Auxiliary scholarship

The Warren General Hospital Auxiliary is again awarding scholarships to any Warren County residents currently enrolled full-time courses leading to certification and/or licensure in a professional healthcare field. Two health care courses must be part of the curriculum each semester. The money can be used for tuition, room board and/or books. Applicants denied scholarships in a previous year are encouraged to reapply if their status now meets the required criteria. To begin the scholarship application process, applicants must submit a typewritten introductory letter that includes the following information: (1) interest in the healthcare field; (2) financial need; (3) experience, if any in the healthcare field; (4) volunteer and employment experience; and (5) when and where training has/will take place. Mail this introductory letter, postmarked by Friday, March 17 to Warren General. No letters will be considered after the deadline. If all criteria are met, an official application will then be sent to the applicant.
