Warren Players to hold auditions for “Romantic Fools”

Warren Players will hold auditions for its upcoming production of “Romantic Fools” at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 28, and Tuesday, Nov. 29, at First Lutheran Church, 109 W. Third Ave., Warren.

Written by Rich Orloff and directed by Warren Players veteran Adri Hunt, this sketch-style comedy consists of 12 two-character acts examining love, lust, dating and romance — from a date with a caveman (Find Me a Primitive Man) to the surprise frustrations of having a perfect mate (The Stepford Guy).

The sketchers — influenced by Monty Python, Saturday Night Live, the Marx Brothers and classic vaudeville — vary in style but all celebrate the inherent comedy of male-female relationships. This show is rated R due to adult sexual situations and language.

Reading material will be provided at auditions. Between two and 24 actors aged 18 and older are being cast.

Performances are scheduled at 7 p.m. Feb. 16, 17 and 18 and 2 p.m. Feb. 19 at Struthers Library Theatre.
