Music on the Mountain returns July 29

Music on the Mountain is making its return after a two-year hiatus.

This year’s event, the seventh annual, will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, July 29, at the Sheffield Area High School football field. The drum and bugle corps that will be performing are all veterans of the event.

Spartans of Nashua, N.H., are the reigning champions — allowing for the event not being held due to COVID.

The others are Southwind, of Mobile, Ala., Legends, out of Kalamazoo, Mich., and Raiders, from Trenton, N.J. “They’re all good groups,” Art Lane said.

There were other groups that were interested, but couldn’t make it — citing some combination of dwindling membership and fuel prices.

Tickets are available online at www.smotm.org or by visiting Crone’s Drug Store in Warren, Peterson’s Hardware in Sheffield, or Sheffield Pharmacy.

Pre-sale adult tickets are $13. At the gate, those tickets are $15. Tickets for children 12 and under are $10.
