Road closure

Scotts Crossing Road is closed to through traffic in Columbus Township from the intersection of Route 426 to the intersection of Route 6 due to flood damage. The road will remain closed until repairs can be made to the culvert that was dislodged during the weekend’s storms. The work was expected to begin Monday and will be done by PennDOT employees from the Warren County maintenance facility. A detour will be posted using Route 6 and Route 426.

Christian Women meet

Jamestown-Warren Christian Women held its May 10 luncheon at Praise Fellowship Church, Russell, with Ray Goetz as the speaker. The June 14 luncheon will be held at noon at Praise Fellowship Church, Russell, with music by David and Sue Ford of Jamestown and speaker Dawn Larson of the Crossing, Warren. Brown bag items are welcome for exchange. There are no dues or membership. Call Judy Crothers for a reservation by June 12 at (814) 723-7613.

Annual plant sale a success

The Warren Garden Club met on May 19. The club’s annual plant sale, held May 14, was very successful. Proceeds will be used for the club’s scholarship fund. The program for the day, Gardening with Roses, was presented by club member Rebecca Ryan. The topics discussed were how to choose the perfect rose for your garden, the watering and fertilizing needs of the rose, how to plant a rose and how to keep your roses happy and healthy for years to come. The next meeting will be held at the home of Sharon Miller (Richardson), 165 Buecher School Road, Clarendon, Pa. Club members will be making a garden decoration using glass plates and a decorative dish. If you are not a member of Warren Garden Club you need to make a reservation for the meeting with the host chairperson at (814) 779-4527.
