CHAPMAN STATE PARK TO HOST EAGLE WATCHES

Chapman State Park will host two free eagle watch programs in early April.

Saturday, April 9, the park will host an eagle watch program from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. The program will feature a presentation and opportunities to view America’s national symbol, among various other birds, and their nests. The group will hike two miles round trip, over flat terrain, to view an eagle’s nest. Those attending should bring a camera, binoculars, and/or a spotting scope. Special guest Bill Vargo, park educator, will lead the presentation.

Registration is required by Wednesday, April 6 by visiting events.dcnr.pa.gov/event/eagle–watch–7339#.Yj3ja-fMKUl. The eagle watch is recommended for those ages 9 and up.

A second eagle watch will be held from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Friday, April 15. The program is the same as the April 6 evnt.

YOUNGSVILLE LIBRARY NEWS

The Youngsville Public Library will host two free CareerLink workshops on Wednesday, April 6. Danielle Ditz will lead a walk-in question-and-answer session from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. for those who need help to ask questions regarding job searches, PA CareerLink, free job training opportunities and more. No registration is needed. From 1:30 to 2:30 p.m., Ditz will lead “Time Management and Self-Care.” The workshop will review ways to improve time management skills and also identify ways to manage stress and practice self-care. Registrations are required for the time management workshop only. Attend in-person at the library, virtually or by cell or landline. BOROUGH NEWS

Drug Take Back Day will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 24 at the Youngsville Municipal Building. Bring in unused, unwanted or expired medication. Those who can’t make the April 24 date can make an appointment by calling the Youngsville Police Department or place the items in the drop box located in the Youngsville Police Department’s main lobby from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

MARCHING BAND FUNDRAISER

A benefit for the Youngsville Eagles marching band will be held from 8 to 10 a.m. Saturday, April 10, at the Warren American Legion, 412 Pennsylvania Ave. West. The breakfast benefit is by a donation, with coffee and water provided. There will also be basket and 50/50 giveaways. For more information contact Cindy Scheid at 814-688-0555.

BINGO

A bingo fundraiser at the Garland Fire Hall will be held Monday, April 4. Doors open at 4 p.m. and bingo starts at 6 p.m. The cost is a $30 donation for an all-you-can-play on regular cards. Additional games are also available. The kitchen opens at 4 p.m. Kitchen specials are mini-subs and chicken fingers.
