4-H Achievement Night

The 57th Annual Rotary 4-H Achievement Night is scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 14, at the 4-H Center in Pittsfield. Warren County 4-H members and volunteers will be honored for their achievements. The evening will also include the annual meeting for the Penn State Extension Committee in Warren County.

New for 2019, the George Morton Animal Science Book scholarship for Warren County 4-H members completing their final year of 4-H and accepted or currently enrolled in a college or career school recognized by Federal Student Aid. The $150 book scholarship is sponsored by the family of the late Mr. Morton, who was a graduate of The Pennsylvania State University and long-time supporter of the Warren County 4-H program. He and his wife supported youth in exploring the 4-H animal science projects and beyond.

Additionally, the Pennsylvania 4-H program is offering a new award program for youth 8-18. The Clover Program Award has been established to encourage 4-H members to engage in a variety of projects and activities, in addition to enabling members to acquire the seven Leadership Life Skills: Communicating; Decision Making and Problem Solving; Getting Along with Others; Learning to Learn; Managing; Understanding Self; and Working in Groups. Members begin by completing the green award level and work their way through the diamond level. In 2019, members are encouraged to complete the first two levels, green and white. Thereafter members may only complete one level per year.

All members and volunteers are encouraged to apply for awards that relate to their leadership and project skill development. Many of the award applications can be found online at

The deadline to submit applications is September 16.
