James Allen and Janet Ann Marquis

of Lander recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

They were married by the Rev. Arthur Fleckenstein on June 1, 1963, at St

John’s Catholic Church in Tidioute.

Mr. and Mrs. Marquis are both retirees of Blair Corporation (formerly New Process Company), having been

employed 44 years and 25 years, respectively.

The Marquises have four children: Jennifer (Barry) Lauffenburger of Warren, Jeffrey (Brenda) Marquis of

Edinboro, James (Valarie) Marquis of North Warren and Jill (Tom) Grant of Ashland, Va., as well as 12 grandchildren.

The couple plans to commemorate their milestone by participating in an anniversary celebration Mass with other couples from the diocese at Sacred Heart Church in Erie on Aug. 4.
