Pumped up prices Dear Editor, I was in Erie last week, gas was less than $3.19 per gallon at most stations. Jamestown is $3.39 and Warren is $3.69. What a ridiculous difference. Promising path Dear Editor, It’s sadly amazing that foreign criminals and corrupt judges can become folk heroes to some. Kilmar Abrego Garcia is a Salvadoran national, falsely labeled a “Maryland man” by his defenders. His wife filed two restraining orders against him for physical violence against her and his stepchildren. He was stopped by Tennessee police for speeding and an expired license. A new process Dear Editor, I’m beginning to understand what this whole tariff program is about. It is driven by the desire to extend the 2017 tax cuts with some adjustments. Our wheelers and dealers are not looking for zero tariff agreements. Being a net importer, 10% or any number higher than zero helps to offset the costs of the upcoming tax extension. Now there is a point of diminishing returns where excessive tariffs will throw the country into a recession and/or cause higher inflation. That’s why we had the sudden 90-day pause.
