Senior Rocco Siliano receives recognition from Mayor David Wortman.

The City Council began Monday’s meeting by recognizing excellence and positive contributions within the community.

High school senior Rocco Siliano was honored through the city’s Junior Council initiative, a program designed to spotlight outstanding student achievement and involvement. Siliano was recognized for his strong academic performance, demonstrated leadership, and commitment to community service.

His accomplishments include active participation in student government, Key Club and the National Honor Society, as well as enrollment in advanced placement coursework.

In addition to his academic and civic involvement, Siliano has shown dedication to his church and has maintained long-standing involvement in dance, where he has excelled not only as a performer, but also as a teacher and choreographer.

“You only have one more semester left,” said Mayor David Wortman. “We just want to recognize the excellence you have shown in that you participate in.”
