Candius B. Luba

Candius B. Luba, 78, of Union City, went home to be with our Lord and Savior on May 29, 2025. She departed this world peacefully surrounded by the love of her family, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and warmth that will forever be cherished.

She was born at Fort Brag, NC on April 24, 1947, the daughter of the late Clem Baker and Edna L. Young Morrow.

Candius was a devoted foster parent, opening her heart and home to 68 children in need. Her nurturing spirit and unwavering support provided a safe haven for those who crossed her path, and her impact on their lives will be felt for years to come. She had an extraordinary ability to make everyone feel valued and loved, and her compassion knew no bounds. She will be remembered not only for her unwavering love for her family, but also for her selfless dedication to others. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her, and her legacy of compassion will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.

She was a member of St. Teresa Catholic Church in Union City and the American Legion Post 237 Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Dawn (Dan) Munroe, and her dear brother, Clay (Karen) Morrow.

Candius is survived by her husband of 58 years, Lawrence J. Luba; her son, Lawrence C. (Rebecca) Luba and her adopted son, Robert Luba. She also leaves behind her brother, Bart (Erica) Morrow, and her grandchildren, Taylor (Rick) Hoglund, and Andrew Luba; and great-grandchildren, Hollyn, Hadleigh and Logan Hoglunad. Candius had a special bond with her many nieces and nephews, who brought her immense joy and pride.

A celebration of Candius’s life will be held at the C. S. Warthman Funeral Home, Inc., 69 N. Main St., Union City, on Friday, June 6, 2025 from 9 to 11:30 AM where family and friends will gather to share memories and honor the beautiful life she lived. A Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at 12 Noon at St. Teresa Church, 9 Third Ave., Union City.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Union City Fire Department, 50 Second Ave., Union City, PA 16438.
