Rex L. Slocum, 74, of Warren, PA, joined his squad on the line of the eternal trap field on Monday, April 21, 2025, at Saint Vincent Hospital, Erie, PA.
Rex was born Feb. 18, 1951, in Warren, the son of the late Rex L. and Helen (Nichols) Slocum. He was a 1969 graduate of Warren Area High School. He was employed as an operator at the Warren Sewage Treatment Plant.
Rex was an avid Trap Shooter and was a youth trap league coach and was an avid Reloader. He taught Firearm Safety for many years at Camp Olmstead.
Rex is survived by his wife, Cindy Davison Slocum, whom he married on Nov. 6, 1971; three children, Victoria Durlin of Warren, Rex O. Slocum and wife Stephanie of Warren, and Tara Ciukaj and husband Walter of Youngsville; six grandchildren, Mikkayla Durlin, Dakkota Shrefler, Coltton Nelson, Erikka Nelson, Katelyn Slocum, and Tessa Slocum; three great-grandchildren, Ryan Slocum, Ryker Shrefler, and Ryver Shrefler; brother, Roger Slocum and wife Debbie of SC; and several nieces, and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Rex was preceded in death by two sisters, Nanette, and Joan.
Friends will be received at Peterson-Blick Funeral Home Inc., 1003 Penna. Ave., E., Warren, PA, on Saturday, April 26, 2025, from 1 to 3 pm.
