Eagles lose early lead

KANE — Coming off their first win of the season, the Youngsville Eagles jumped out to an early lead before the Kane Wolves came storming back in a 16-10 nonleague loss Monday in Kane.

The Eagles scored all 10 of their runs in the opening three innings and held a five-run lead prior to the bats going silent.

Madison Carnahan had a big day at the plate, connecting on a two-run triple in the second inning and adding a ground-rule double in the third.

Allysa Gentz, Hailey Gray and Molly Helman all had hits and reached base safely three times apiece. Kamden Swearingen, Carnahan and Helman all scored two runs in defeat.

Kane’s winning effort included home runs from Leah Tigani, Maya Smith and Olivia Bell.

Youngsville returns to action today when it visits Saegertown for doubleheader action.
