Youngsville has upcoming bingo, fundraisers, sports boosters

WINTER & CHRISTMAS ASSISTANCE AVAILABLE

The Warren Salvation Army’s “Bundle Up & Christmas Assistance” Program for children ages 0-18 and seniors ages 62 and over is accepting appointments for sign-up from Sept. 28 through Oct. 2.

With winter weather and Christmas on the way, the program can offer assistance with important items for children and seniors, such as clothing and shoes. Masks are required while attending the appointments. Contact the Warren Salvation Army for questions and to set up an appointment date and time (814-723-8950). The Warren Salvation Army is located at 311 Beech St., Warren.

Bring the following information to the appointment:

¯ photo identification,

¯ proof of residence in Warren County,

¯ birth certificate, social security card, or medical card for all members of the household,

¯ proof of custody of all children 12 years and under,

¯ proof of all income into the household,

¯ list of expenses, and

¯ a wish list, clothing and shoe sizes for all children 12 years and under.

LADY EAGLES VOLLEYBALL FUNDRAISER

The Youngsville Lady Eagles Volleyball team will be holding its inaugural cornhole tournament fundraiser on Sunday at Island Park. Registration is from 11 a.m. to noon with the tournament to follow. Any and all skill levels are welcome. The cost is a $20 donation per two-person team, to be paid at registration on the day of the event. Cash prizes will be determined based on the number of team participating. There will also be a 50/50 raffle, Chinese auction and food.

CHICKEN BBQ FUNDRAISER, YOUNGSVILLE SPORTS BOOSTERS

Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. there will be a chicken barbecue fundraiser located at Youngsville Hardware, 730 N. Main St., Youngsville, 814-563-7536. The event is being hosted by Dustin Schwab and the chicken and sides will be provided by Catering Plus. All proceeds will benefit the Youngsville Sports Boosters.

LEGION BINGO OPEN TO PUBLIC

Youngsville American Legion Bingo is open to the public every Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m.

Food will be available starting at 5 p.m.

No smoking will be permitted during bingo hours.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR COMMUNITY MEALS

Free community meals at the Youngsville Free Methodist Church, 179 Davis St., have resumed and are served on Wednesdays from 5 to 6 p.m. Volunteers are needed to help with these meals.

There is a sign-up sheet located in the church lobby.

Volunteers are not obligated to assist every week, just when available. Volunteers are needed to help serve and clean up afterwards.
