Warren’s bocce team splits with Tigers

GUYS MILLS — The Warren High unified bocce team was on the road at Maplewood for its second match of the season.

Warren brought two teams, each competing once against the Tigers’ solo squad. Warren 1 came out strong, earning three points in the first frame, but Maplewood showed resilience. The Tigers came back strong, and secured the narrow 5-4 victory over the Dragons. Warren 1 was represented by Julia Getner, Hemi Baran, Eric Irons, Peyton Cabisca, Attie Corey, Sophia Fromknecht and Keely Southworth.

Match 2 featured a nice Warren comeback en route to a 6-4 win.

“Team two played aggressive bocce. They were down 1-4 going into the fourth frame, went ahead in the fifth, and scored an important point in the sixth for the win,” reported Warren head coach Cayla Onoratti.

Warren 2 players included Ryder Check, Colton Ristau, Logan Ristau, Sammy White, Leo Westover, Lettie Pearson, Daniel Vignere and Brooke Campbell.

On the season, Warren 1 has a record of 1-2, and Warren 2 has a record of 2-1.

The unified bocce team is home today as it hosts the Seneca Bobcats at 3:30 p.m. at Warren Area High School.
