Powerhouse gymnasts shine

LAKEWOOD, N.Y. — The Warren YMCA Powerhouse gymnastics team recently competed against 10 other squads in the Lakewood YMCA Invitational.

A total of 279 gymnasts from western Pennsylvania and New York competed. The gymnasts from the Warren Y performed well, including the following who placed first in their respective events: Poppy Johnson, uneven bars (9.100) and all-around (36.300), Level 2 Junior A Division; Kaylynn Lowery, vault (9.450), Level 2 Junior A Division; Madelyn Nelson, floor (9.300), Level 2 Junior A Division; Mikaylee Massa, uneven bars (6.900), Level 6 Senior Division; Ellie Sahli, uneven bars (7.000), Level 6 Junior Division; Ruth Sienkiewicz, uneven bars (8.300) and floor (9.650), Level 7 Junior Division; Harper Christie, balance beam (9.200) and all-around (33.850), Level 7 Junior Division; and Meredith Smith, uneven bars (7.300), balance beam (9.000) and all-around (33.500), Level 8 All.

Additionally, the Level 6 and the Level 7 teams both placed second.
