RUSSELL — The Eisenhower volleyball team suffered its first loss of the season Tuesday night, falling to Union City 3-1.

After playing back to back nights — the Knights defeated a tough Seneca team on the road Monday 3-2 — it would have been easy for head coach Lori Pascuzzi to make excuses for her team’s effort last night but she doesn’t coach that way.

“I thought the girls played well, considering it was a rough five-set win on Monday,” she said. “Tonight’s games were all close, but we have to learn from this loss and make some fundamental adjustments to improve.”

Union City jumped out to a two-set lead before Eisenhower (3-1) won the third set 25-19. The Knights kept the game close eventually falling 28-26 in the fourth set.

Eisenhower is back in action today when it travels to Tidioute.

Starting at $3.50/week.
