Eisenhower senior Emily Grosch, the daughter of Gail and Jenifer Grosch, recently signed her college letter of intent with Slippery Rock University to join the cross country and track teams.

For Emily, who narrowed her choice down to Edinboro or Slippery Rock, the decision came down to which school was the best fit for her.

“It was the perfect balance for academics, plenty of opportunities to participate right away and the team atmosphere,” she said. “I just loved the team aspects. I had a great visit and everyone made me feel so welcome; I just felt very comfortable there.”

Grosch was a record setter for the Knights track team, setting a new record in the 800 meters. She qualified for the PIAA meet in cross country last fall. She was also named to the Region 4 second team the last two years and was named the senior Most Valuable Athlete.

Not only an outstanding athlete, the senior excelled in the classroom as well. She is a member of the National Honor Society, a member of student council, captains council and is secretary of her senior class. She received the Caleb Hultman Track Scholarship as well as several other local scholarships.

Starting at $3.50/week.
