Fort LeBoeuf outlasts rain, Dragons

Warren’s baseball team battled Fort LeBoeuf and multiple rain delays on Monday in looking for its first win of the season. With the Dragons trailing 3-2 after five innings, the Bison scored six unanswered runs in the last two innings of a 9-2 Region 6 win at Old Legion Field.

“Jacob Franklin had a big double and had an RBI with runners in scoring position,” said Warren coach John White. “Eli Snyder was on base twice. There were still a lot of good things; we just still struggle to score with runners on base and that just comes from repetitions and playing the game. We haven’t been able to do either of those because of the weather.”

Ethan Bliley was 3-for-4 with two RBIs and freshman Nick Atkins 3-for-4 with two runs scored for Fort LeBoeuf, which improves to 4-8 overall and 3-5 in Region 6.

Warren starting pitcher Carter Cochran worked into the fifth inning, throwing 101 pitches without allowing an earned run. He struck out five and walked two.

The Dragons fall to 0-12 overall and 0-8 in the region.

Starting at $3.50/week.
