For the third straight season, Warren senior Adika Fiscus has been named a Region 3 boys wrestling all-star.
As a sophomore, Fiscus was voted a first-team all-star, then voted to the second team as a junior. This year, Fiscus is back on the first team (127 pounds) after his third straight trip to regionals.
He ends his senior season at 32-12 with a fifth-place finish at the District 10 2A Wrestling Championships. He finishes with 90 career wins (90-39), and it would have been more wins had his freshman season not ended due to injury.
“Adika built on his talent,” said Warren coach Glenn Baldensperger. “He definitely is gifted with athleticism, but he stayed with his wrestling throughout the year, getting in the room once or twice a week and competing in off-season competition.
“We have had our share of athletic and/or strong kids, but without working at getting better at wrestling, you just graduate kids that are athletic and strong. He has been a solid role model and constant performer in the Dragon singlet. Being voted region all-star is the appreciation the coaches have for the kids that pay their dues in our sport — as they are the ones that voted him in. I can’t vote for my own kids. He earned it.”

ARE SECOND TEAMERS
A pair of Eisenhower wrestlers have been named to the District 10 Region 3 all-star second team.
Shawn Miller (121 pounds) had a sixth-place finish at sectionals and finished with an 18-13 record; and Rever Caudill (114) had a second-place finish at sectionals, placed fourth at districts and narrowly missed out on states after finishing sixth at regionals. He finished with a 31-13 record.
“Both of these guys work very hard and are very deserving of this recognition,” Knights head coach Jared Lindell said. “I’m happy they will both be back next year, because they both set a tone for our younger guys.”
