Junior Alana Stuart was named at two positions — pitcher and third base — and sophomore Emma Gray voted in at second base by the region’s coaches.

“Alana had an incredible offensive season,” said Warren head coach Carissa Stuart. “She definitely was the one to get us on the board and get our offense rolling numerous times. I know she’s most known for her pitching, but she’s an incredible fielder as well, very smooth with her glove and she’s always ready to make the next out.”

Stuart finished the season on fire for the Dragons, having reached base in 14 straight at-bats before flying out to left in the third inning of an 11-3 playoff loss to Hickory. For the season, Stuart batted .569 with nine home runs, and had a slugging percentage of 1.140.

In the pitching circle, Stuart was also a region all-star as a freshman.

Gray was 14 for 42 (.333) at the plate her sophomore season with an .807 fielding percentage.

“Emma is a true utility player,” said Coach Stuart. “I had confidence in her wherever I put her. She’s always looking to improve her skills. She’s the player that would stay after practices just for extra reps. Emma has good game-awareness and judgment on defense.

“Both girls are a pleasure to coach,” she said. “They’re gamers and super-competitive and that’s something you just can’t coach.”
