Warren girls, Eisenhower boys heading to Edinboro
For the second time this basketball post-season, two Warren County School District basketball teams will play back-to-back playoff games at a “home away from home.”
With PIAA playoff wins on Saturday, Warren’s girls basketball team and Eisenhower’s boys basketball team will play back-to-back on Wednesday, beginning at 5:30 p.m. at Edinboro University’s McComb Field House.
The Lady Dragons (21-5) — on the heels of their 71-64 overtime win over Elizabeth Forward on Saturday at Warren Area High School — advance to play WPIAL/District 7 champion North Catholic (18-7) at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in the PIAA 4A second round. North Catholic beat D10’s No. 4 seed, Conneaut, 47-29, to get here.
Eisenhower (21-5) will follow the Warren girls game in the PIAA 2A second round boys tournament against WPIAL champion Aliquippa (22-5). Eisenhower defeated Northern Cambria, 46-39, on Saturday, and Aliquippa beat District 9 third-seeded Otto-Eldred, 56-27.
Earlier this post-season, Warren’s boys basketball team followed Eisenhower’s boys team in back-to-back D10 semifinal games Feb. 26 at General McLane High School.
