Braylon Barnes hit six of Warren’s eleven 3-pointers on Wednesday in an 80-45 win over Bradford at Warren Area High School.
The Warren senior had 24 points through three quarters as the unbeaten Dragons led 51-23 by halftime and 72-34 after three. Barnes finished with 26 points to lead five Warren players in double figures.
“We scored 51 points in the first half… We outscored them 23-4 in the second quarter; I thought the kids did a great job offensively in the first half, making the extra pass,” said Warren coach Jeff Berdine, whose Dragons are off to a 10-0 start. “We say all the time, when you press and you trap, you’re going to give stuff up, but we’re trying to get in the habit of, when the ball goes through the net, first closest guy grabs it, and away we go.”
All five Warren starters — Chase Sitler, Brady Berdine, Tommy Nyquist, Braylon Barnes and Konnor Hoffman — scored at least five points each in the opening quarter. Berdine added 10 of his 18 points in the 23-4 second quarter.
Nyquist and Sitler ended the game with 11 points each and Hoffman 10, with the bench taking over in the fourth.

“We pressed in the first quarter and I didn’t think we were super successful, gave up 19,” said coach Berdine. “When we went to half court man-to-man, we got the tempo where we wanted it, and we were able to get a lot of stops… That allows us to play fast and that’s how we need to play.”
Jake Franz led Bradford (4-5) with 13 points. The Owls’ last two losses have come against Warren on Dec. 20 and Wednesday.
In the earlier junior varsity game on Wednesday, Warren avenged a one-point loss on Dec. 20 with a 42-32 win. Lucas Thrift and Tage Wyman led the Dragons with 12 and 10 points, respectively.
