Austin Hanson’s standout basketball season continues to reap dividends.
Eisenhower’s junior guard was selected to the Pennsylvania Sportswriters Class 3A All-State Third Team. The announcement was made Thursday.
In leading the Knights to a 21-4 record that included a District 10 title and a berth in the PIAA playoffs, Hanson averaged 20.8 points, 4.5 assists and 2.9 steals per game, and shot 42% from beyond the arc and 88% from the foul line.
“Austin had an amazing season and is the hardest worker I know,” Eisenhower head coach Ryan Mangini said. “He was excellent in all aspects of the game and deserves this recognition.”
Of note, Erie First Christian senior Avery Collins, who the Knights defeated three times this season, was named Player of the Year in Class 1A. He averaged 32.2 points per game, finished his career as the No. 2 scorer in district history and has committed to Penn West Edinboro to continue his basketball career.
