All 3 Warren divers qualify for districts
Despite Warren’s swim teams being swept by visiting McDowell on Monday at the Warren YMCA, it was a “huge night for diving,” according to Warren coach Brandon Gregg.
Warren freshmen Kinzlea Chase and Gracie Page finished 1-2 and senior teammate Eliza Brook fifth, and all three qualified for the end-of-season District 10 2A championships.
“The entire Dragons dive team has qualified for District 10 competition,” said Gregg. “I’m so proud of all of their hard work. Each and every one of them is brand new to diving this year and have adapted to this extremely challenging sport quickly. The hours they put in on and off the board showed tonight with their scores.”
Chase won the event with 214.1 points followed by Page’s 204.55. After McDowell divers were third and fourth, Brook finished fifth at 158.75 points. In addition to district-qualifying scores, all three scores were personal bests.
