Warren Area High School senior Braylon Barnes recently completed his spring/summer AAU travel basketball season that included six tournaments with the area Dribble Kings, coached by Jamestown’s Quinn Lee Yaw and Maceo Wofford, and three tourneys with Outwork Select out of the Cleveland/Akron, Ohio, area.

Outwork Select is coached by Danny Zuchak of Bethany College (W.Va.) and Raymond Yates of Bryant & Stratton College (Solon, Ohio), as well as Nike Basketball Camps coach Ben Draper. Tournaments with Outwork Select 17U included the Nike Summer Championships (Columbus, Ohio), Adidas Summer Hoopfest (Pittsburgh), and the Gym Rats National Championships (Fort Wayne, Ind.).

AAU highlights for Barnes, who averaged 10.3 points and 4.5 rebounds as a WAHS junior in 2022-2023, include finishing first in the Shanpull Spring Shootout in March with Dribble Kings 18U and making the elite eight out of over 60 teams in the GRBA National Championships in Fort Wayne.

For the AAU season, Barnes averaged 16 points, including a 36-point game against the McChesney Kings in the Salt City Shootout in Syracuse, N.Y.
