JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — Moorhead, Minnesota scored three runs in the top of the seventh inning to break a 4-all tie and it held on for a 7-5 victory over Greenville, North Carolina in a rain-delayed Game 3 of the Babe Ruth 13-15 World Series on Saturday evening at Diethrick Park.
J.J. Dunlap, the Ron Tellefsen Most Outstanding Player, and Taye Reich both had an RBI single, and starting pitcher Riley Dickhaus added a sacrifice fly off losing pitcher Cade Butcher in the decisive rally.
Dunlap finished with three hits, Dickhaus added two hits and Jonas Schaumann belted a two-run triple for the Midwest Plains Regional champions.
Moorhead opened the game with four runs in the top of the first inning, highlighted by Oliver Carlson’s RBI single and Schauman’s two-run triple off Greenville starter Parker Williams. After a 1-hour, 54-minute rain delay, Greenville scored two runs off Dickhaus on an RBI single by Ahmad Abulitifa and a groundout by Caleb Lacroix.
The Southeast Regional champs tied the game with two runs in the third inning. Lacroix drew a bases-loaded walk and Suiter Howard delivered a sacrifice fly. The game remained 4-4 until the top of the seventh when Moorhead plated three runs.

Greenville made it interesting in the bottom of the seventh, though.
Carter Evans was hit by a pitch to lead off the inning, and Butcher and Quinn Price both singled to load the bases with no outs.
That’s when Reich, the Moorhead center-fielder, turned in the defensive play of the game when he ran down a deep drive off the bat of Tate Pinner — Greenville’s Tellefsen Most Outstanding Player — for the first out. Evans scored on the play, but reliever Jeff Feeney, the winning pitcher, got Josh Roberson to ground into a double play to end the game.
Roberson and Price both finished with two hits for Greenville. Williams shook off a tough first inning, hurling five scoreless before being relieved with one out in the seventh by Butcher.
