SLIPPERY ROCK — Warren track and field athletes were among competitors from over 60 teams at Saturday’s SRU High School Invitational at Slippery Rock University.

“The meet started with us getting back on the bus for a weather delay, but once we were able to compete, we battled the rain and cold to have some good performances against some good competition,” said Warren coach Kevin Dustin. “We had a host of personal-bests, despite the conditions. Matt Sowa set a new standard in running the first 2k steeplechase, posting the now-record time of 7:21. We were glad to get into the facility we will be at again in a short couple weeks for the D10 Championships.”
