Warren Special Olympians compete in Bradford

BRADFORD — Last Friday, Warren County Special Olympics swimmers competed in an invitational swim meet at the University of Pitt-Bradford.

Special Olympians from Elk, Forest, Cameron, McKean and Warren counties competed.

Sheetz of North Warren supported the Warren County Special Olympians with lunch.

Kyle Fortman took first place in Heat 3 of the 15-year freestyle and Colton Ristau took first in Heat 5.

In the 25-yard freestyle, Kaylee Turner took first in Heat 12. In Heat 15, Kristen Sorensen was first and Samantha Miller was second. Julie Gregg took first in Heat 16 with Jennifer Kersey third and Brenda Huya fourth. Conner Campbell won Heat 17 and Shawn Albaugh won Heat 18. Heidi Venal was second in Heat 13 and Kayla Smith was third. Priya Khare was second in Heat 14. Fortman took second in Heat 19. Ristau was second and Justin Allen was third in Heat 20.

Gregg won Heat 23 of the 25-yard backstroke and Miller was fourth. Khare took first in Heat 24 and Kersey was third. Turner won Heat 25. Sorensen won Heat 27 and Venal was second. Fortman took Heat 29. Allen was second in Heat 30. Smith was third in Heat 26.

In the 50-yard freestyle, Turner took first in Heat 32, Campbell won Heat 35, Allen took first in Heat 38 and Ristau won Heat 39. Sorensen won Heat 33 with Smith second. Gregg won Heat 34 with Khare second. Albaugh took second in Heat 36.

Warren’s 100-yard relay of Campbell, Allen, Fortman and Ristau took first in Heat 42. Albaugh, Sorensen, Khare and Smith were third in Heat 42 and Miller, Kersey, Turner and Venal were third in Heat 43.
