Dragons wrestling team collects 8th win
Warren’s wrestling team won its second straight, 42-24 over Cambridge Springs on Wednesday at Warren Area High School.
“Joe Krall an Ryan Fitzsimmons started us off with pins, and Damien Sanchez finished it off,” said Warren coach Glenn Baldensperger, whose Dragons are 8-4 overall. “Always nice to win.”
Starting at 215 pounds, Krall was ahead 5-1 before his third-period pin. After a double forfeit at 285 and forfeit for Warren at 107, Fitzsimmons made the score 18-0 with his first-period pin at 114.
Cambridge Springs bounced back with four wins on the mat to tie the score at 24-24, but Warren’s Sanchez took care of business at 160 pounds. Up 7-0, Sanchez’s pin at 3:12 clinched the team victory.
“We definitely have some work to do going into the postseason,” said Baldensperger. “Stay tuned.”
