Candy Vinopal’s 214-523 led the Youngsville Ladies League at Valley Bowling Center.

Margie Peters followed Vinopal with a 188-499 and Cindy Reasbeck had a 187-471.

Mike Spiesman spun a 180-206-236-622 to lead the Daybreakers League at Valley Bowling Center.

Jed Kepple rolled a 185-215-211-611, Bob Marasco had a 212-161-201-574, Cheri Wolfgang drilled a 172-223-523 and Marge Peters had a 167-164-468.

Joe Yaegle rolled a 229-594 during the Rusted Nutz Garage League at Valley Bowling Center this week.

Last week, Steve Rex had a 234-640, Darcy Rex cracked a 217-576 and Jim Frazler spilled a 206-574. Bonnie Umpleby had a 182-484, Tiffany Blum rolled a 165-484 and Haley Frazler had a 166-463.

Scott Gustafson led the Brokenstraw Couples League at Valley Bowling Center with a 214-591 last week. Ron Jameson had a 224-570 and Pam Jameson rolled a 205-546.

This week, Lou Campbell had a 246-627, Austin Fitzgerald rolled a 268-626, Scott Gustafson had a 251-618, Marc Lobdell cracked a 235-601 and Pam Jameson had a 191-497.

Trap leagues

The Penn York Winter Trap League met this past Sunday at Celoron Gun Club with 82 shooters present.

One perfect score was shot by Celoron’s Jeff Gens.

High Sub Junior Male was Hunter Kestler with 40. High Sub Junior Female was Izabella Hurlburt with 34. High Junior Male was Caleb McMillen with 44. High Junior Female was Lydia Covert with 45. High Ladies were Debbie Lineman and Cindy Cable with 44s. High Vets were Guy Anderson, Dean Spiridon and Kim Milford with 46s. High Senior Vets were Jim Nowacki and John Foster with 47s. High Super Senior Vets were Spear Proukou and Brian Westerdahl with 47s.

Junior high basketball

The Sheffield junior high boys basketball team split back-to-back games Monday and Tuesday, defeating Johnsonburg 29-25 to start the week, but falling 33-32 to Elk County Catholic on Tuesday afternoon.

John Whipple led the Wolverines both nights, scoring 10 on the Rams and 11 against the Crusaders.
